Are you earthlings aware of ‘Earth Hour’?

Earth Hour is an iniative, started by the WWF that turned it into a global yearly phenomenon taking place all across the planet. The event is meant to encourage all individuals, communities and businesses to turn off all non-essential electric lights for an hour, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. It is usually held towards the end of the month of March.
Earth Hour has officially become a symbol of commitment towards our beloved planet.

Earth Hour 2018 will be held on 24/3/2018 from 8.30pm to 9.30pm Local Time.

Let’s get ready, prepare our candlelights and pre-charge our portable battery packs, and join the millions who are already fighting climate change!

Singaporean Solar Energy Firm to offer electricity for sale

Singapore Telco Company Starhub set to offer electricity for sale in conjunction with local solar energy firm Sunseap. The program will be officially soft-launched next month at the Open Electricity Market in Jurong.

From April 2018 onwards, households & businesses can opt to buy electricity from a retailer with flexible price planning. The surge of electricity is courtesy of the companies’ new clean energy souces and options. The Energy Market Authority(EMA) has been progessively offering alternative plans to consumers’ since 2001. Mr Howie Lau, chief marketing officer at StarHub, expressed jovially in the press release: “Working together with Sunseap, we are excited to offer households a compelling way to live a lower carbon footprint lifestyle using the sun’s energy.

“Leveraging each other’s expertise, we will bundle essential services from mobile, pay TV, broadband and electricity in attractive packages for customers, who are becoming more environmentally aware.”

The rest of Singapore’s electric consumers’ will have this option extended to them in the second half of the year 2018.
