Solar Powered RV that never runs out of gas!

Check out the latest motor-home innovation from Germany, showcased by RV company, Dethleffs. Never again will you have to worry about gas prices and mortgages!
These RVs, dubbed as “” are built to last and are perfect for the traveling homeowner, party crew or hippie couple!

This is not just any electric vehicle. The unveiling of the vehicle is right on point as Volkswagen announces their latest Kombi Van.
It is obvious for reasons that powering a motor-home RV is not as convenient as one thinks. Having to keep all its components powered up requires an extensive amount of energy! In order to ride through all the bumps, Dethleffs virtually covered the entire van with solar panels to ensure it never runs out of power. The RV is built on the company’s Iveco Daily Electric chassis with a 107-horsepower electric motor. The motor home should have a range just shy of 100 miles, fortunately thanks to the solar panels, this beast of a home can make up to 3,000 watts of electricity for its 228-Ah battery. In other words, you’re all good to just keep on going.

The motor-home, featuring a sleek and modern design; circular wireless charging station; infrared heating panels on interior floors, furniture and walls; windows with darkening film between the panes; and a heating system that captures outside air on days warmer than 79 degrees, then sends it into the main cabin when the evening’s cooler air sets in.

We almost forgot – a starlight projection system above the bed.

“Dethleffs know this means a lot more than just putting bodywork on an electrically driven chassis,” Dethleffs Managing Director, Alexander Leopold, said in a Victron Energy release. “By implementing a fully electric power train there are many challenges and equally opportunities for the entire vehicle. One significant opportunity is to do without any additional type of energy sources for the vehicle. This means that a motor-home with electric drive will also supply all the on-board services with electricity for the living area instead of gas, for example – and that is why solar power production becomes very important.”

There is no news yet on pre-orders or estimated cost, but this is an amazing feat of design with steps in the absolute right direction. Imagine the endless possibilities!
